Exactly what I was looking for  Jun 17, 2008
I recently graduated from college and read this book after hearing many good things about it. I was immediately impressed with the topics presented as well as the layout, pictures and information provided. This book addresses many of the issues that young adults are faced with on an every day basis and provides the Biblical support I have been looking for. I think anyone that is high-school or college age, or anyone with kids in this age group should purchase this book. It is a helpful tool for teens and young adults attempting to survive in today's world.

This book is going to college  Apr 19, 2008
My kids are going to love this unusual, wonderfully illustrated Bible guide. High school and college students helped create it, and it shows. The book is a 3-parter. The biggest section deals with life topics affecting kids today--topics they have questions about. Some are controversial, like abortion, homosexuality, and masturbation. Some are practical, like what the Bible says about tattoos (the answer surprised me, since I didn't think the Bible said anything about it). Each topic is loaded with relevant excerpts from the Bible. Some are accompanied by short feature articles. On tough issues that the Bible doesn't address directly--but that kids wonder about-- the writer simply reports what Bible experts have to say about the topics, and the evidence they use to support their case. Here's the caption under an engaging close-up of a young lady's eyes, in the section dealing with "lust." Caption title: Eyes of the beholder. Caption text: "Seen through eyes of love, another person is our master--someone we want only to please. Seen through the eyes of lust, another person is our servant--someone we want only to please us." Cool definition. Especially for hormonally charged kids. The second big section of the book introduces each book of the Bible, condensing the main points to two pages each. A bit like Cliff Notes with pictures. It covers topics like "Biggest Idea," "Biggest Scene," and "Sum it up." The last section highlights 50 of the most famous heroes and jerks of the Bible. It's just a little add-on feature, but it's cleverly written and illustrated. The book looks like a great way to get kids to crack open their Bibles.
